Mechanical Construction Manager
Responsibilities:
Project Planning and Coordination:
- Collaborate with project stakeholders, Mangers, engineers, contractors, and clients, to develop mechanical systems design and installation plans.
- Review project specifications, drawings, and schedules to identify mechanical requirements, constraints, and milestones.
- Coordinate with subcontractors and suppliers to procure materials, equipment, and services necessary for mechanical systems installation.
Mechanical Systems Installation:
- Oversee the installation, testing, and commissioning of HVAC, plumbing, fire protection, and other mechanical systems according to project specifications and industry standards.
- Monitor construction progress, identify potential issues or delays, and implement solutions to ensure project milestones are met.
- Conduct regular site inspections to assess work quality, safety compliance, and adherence to project plans and specifications.
- Manage, put to work, and monitor direct labour workforce.
Health Safety & Quality
- Carry out safety briefings.
- Develop Task Sheets, RA/MS.
- Carry out safety inspections.
- Collaborate and input into safety forums.
- Assess subcontractor HSE Paperwork.
- Uphold standards and lead by example.
Quality Assurance and Compliance:
- Implement digital quality control measures to ensure mechanical systems are installed correctly, meet performance requirements, and comply with relevant codes and regulations.
- Review drawings, submittals, and material samples to verify compliance with project specifications and standards.
- Implement inspections and test plans to verify the integrity and functionality of mechanical systems prior to project completion and handover.
- Manage quality/area hand overs.
Cost Management and Budget Control:
- Support the management of project budgets, forecasts, and cost estimates for mechanical systems installation activities.
- Monitor labour productivity, track resource utilization, and allocation.
- Support review of change, claims, and variations to assess their impact on project costs and programme.
Leadership and Communication:
- Provide leadership and guidance to subcontractors, and site personnel involved in mechanical systems installation.
- Foster a collaborative and safety-conscious work environment, promoting effective communication, teamwork, and accountability.
- Communicate regularly with project team to provide updates on project progress, challenges, and resolutions.
Qualifications:
- CSCS
- SSSTS / SMSTS
- Proven experience in mechanical building services supervision and management.
- Strong technical knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, fire protection, and other mechanical systems.
- Proficiency in Excel, Word, Outlook and Digital tools for quality, procurement, and information management.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and work effectively under pressure.
- Knowledge of relevant codes, standards, and regulations governing mechanical systems installation.
