Leading Pharmaceutical Company Awards Dalkia UK Quality Assurance Archive Extension Contract

The 12-month contract will see Dalkia provide design and construction works for a new quality assurance extension in Macclesfield.

Dalkia, one of the UK’s the leading technical and energy solutions providers, has been appointed to deliver a new Quality Assurance Archive Extension by a Major Pharmaceutical Company. As part of the NEC4 A contract, Dalkia will provide the civil and structural design for the new steel extension in Macclesfield as well as ground investigations to inform the below ground design.

Dalkia will facilitate the delivery of the design phase in partnership with its trusted design consultants, as well as managing the build through its construction manager. By using both design and construction skillsets in the early design stage, the pharmaceutical client will achieve an efficient and safe civil solution.

The project will also see Dalkia’s specialist energy management and analytics skills applied as part of the design and build. Dalkia’s accredited energy assessor will provide a thermal model of the new extension using the EDSL Tas energy modelling software which will be used to assess the new extensions operational energy performance against the client’s sustainability targets.

The extension will also be fully BIM modelled with Construction Operations Building Information Exchange (COBIe) data in the clients Common Data Environment. This will allow the major pharmaceutical company client to consume the model and drawing sheets into their Asset Information Team for record data and future Facilities Management maintenance.

The project will also incorporate Dalkia’s specialist skills in managing unknown ground conditions given that the land to which the works will be applied was acquired from a previous pharmaceutical company. To do this, Dalkia will provide ground investigations to inform the below ground design.

Nick Hyde, Key Account Delivery Manager at Dalkia, said

We are delighted that we have been selected to execute this Quality Assurance Archive Project. As the project will rely on a 12-month collaborative process working in partnership with the client from pre-construction to handover, we are reassured by the trust they have placed in us to deliver an outstanding outcome for the project.
